Miller Vet Clinic was first owned and operated by Dr. Fred Hubbard in 1998. His passion and innovation set the foundation for the clinic.
In 2007, shortly after his graduation from Iowa State University, Dr. Eric Knock went to work for Dr. Hubbard and purchased the clinic in 2011 and later changed the name to Prairie View Veterinary Clinic. Dr. April Schilder became part owner of the clinic in 2016 after working with Dr. Knock for one year. Together, both Dr. Knock and Dr. Schilder along with their Associate Veterinarians, Dr. Gina Neu-Paulsen, Dr. Katie Hunsucker, Dr. Hailey Ehlers, and Dr. Marissa Josupait have worked hard to grow and broaden Prairie View Veterinary Clinic to include 4 locations in Central South Dakota as well as expanding the provided services.
Dr. Eric Knock and his wife Roxanne live and work on their ranch near Tulare, SD where they are raising their four young children: Rylee, RaeAnna and Rielle, and Roy. Dr. Knock's dedication and hard work has solidified the success of Prairie View Veterinary Clinic, allowing for addition of four associate veterinarians and the expansion of staff in all the clinic locations. When he is away from the clinic he stays hard at work on their ranch.
Upon her graduation from Iowa State University in 2013, Dr. Gina Neu-Paulsen came on staff as a veterinarian. This was a natural transition as she grew up on a local ranch and spent most of her school breaks working at the clinic. In 2014 Dr. Gina joined Dave McMahan at the Redfield clinic. She lives in the Zell, SD community with her husband, Gerard and young children Emmaline, Emmett and Lillian. When she isn't working for the clinic she is ranching with her husband.
Dr. April Schilder, grew up in Athol, SD and graduated from Iowa State University in 2014 and came to work at the Miller Clinic. In 2015 she opened our third clinic in Highmore and became part owner in 2016. She primarily works out of Highmore office and her pickup. Dr. Shilder strives to give exceptional care to staff and clients alike. She lives west of Faulkton, SD on a ranch with her husband, Brady and young sons Levi and Cullen.
Dr. Katie Hunsucker joined the team in March of 2017 after 2.5 years of practice in Eastern South Dakota. She was born and raised in Montana and graduated from Colorado State University in 2014. In October of 2017 she started our fourth clinic in Wessington Springs and is based out of there. She lives in Wolsey, SD with her husband, Paul, and young daughter, Ottilia, where they enjoy being a part of their community and church activities.
Dr. Hailey Ehlers, from Lakefield, MN, graduated from Iowa State in 2019. While in vet school Hailey worked for the clinic during the summer of 2017 and during a variety of school breaks and externships. The combination of those work experiences and local friendships led to her joining the PVVC team shortly after graduation. Dr. Hailey lives on an acreage south of Miller with her boyfriend Tanner Cain and their two dogs. She grew up with an assortment of animals including many small ruminants. In her spare time, she likes to make a variety of Pinterest worthy projects. She has a knack to make beautiful areas with spare change.
Dr. Marissa Josupait recently joined the team at the beginning of 2020 and is often based out of the Wessington Springs' Clinic. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in the town of Naperville, Illinois. In 2019 she graduated from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine. She likes working at PVVC because of the diverse case load, team menatily and positive work environment. She lives in Springs with her boyfriend, Dalton, dog named Goose, and Binx the cat. In college Marissa was on the University of Illinois Rowing team and still enjoys being outside and on the water in her spare time.
As a staff we are dedicated to providing comprehensive care for small and large animals. Our veterinarians live and work in the local communities where most of their neighbors are friends and clients.
